Diamond Bar, Los Angeles County
Diamond Bar takes its name from the cattle brand, a diamond over a bar, that Frederick Lewis registered for his ranch here in 1918. A development company bought the ranch in 1956 and drew up a master plan for the whole property, and the first houses went up a few years later. The community incorporated in 1989.
